Easter crafts

So these aren't all Easter crafts, but I always have a hard time with thinking of titles for my posts. Anyway, this sign I made I really love. I wanted something to put above my kids pictures that are on my shelf and I thought of this. I got a piece of fence that had been outside and was very weathered and painted it white. Then I hand painted all the letters on. I couldn't use paper or vinyl because I wanted the distressed look and I wanted the letters to look old and worn. Hand painting all the letters was hard and as you can see it is not perfect, the 'i' in cherish really bothers me, but its too late now. When all the paint was dry I sanded it really good so I could see some of the wood underneath and inked the edges. It looked a little too white for my wall so I put some brown glaze on it and I think it made it look even more distressed and I like it a lot better. The top picture is before the glaze and the bottom is after.

I made this little Easter craft from stuff I got at the dollar store. I also have a wreath idea from dollar store stuff too but I haven't done it yet. I can't believe all the craft stuff you can get there.

I was going through some stuff I had that was going to end up in a garage sale and I found 3 unfinished frames. I couldn't believe I was going to get rid of them, I must have put them away in my pre-craft days. So I had to think of some type of craft to do with frames. I love subway art so I put this cute Easter print from www.landeeseelandeedo.blogspot.com in my frame. I painted the frame white, but I had some brown spots on the frame that would not be covered by the paint, so I added some cute sparkly ribbon and a few embellishments.

I have been learning to make paper flowers and I have so many different ones that it is hard to decide which ones would look best. This one here is the easiest to do. I am going to do more Easter stuff but I am waiting until after I go to the scrapbook expo so I can get some really cute paper. I get to go this weekend. Yeah!! Now I can stock up on paper and embellishments and have it all at home so there won't be any more last minute trips to Hobby Lobby because I am missing something.

I couldn't do a post without mentioning what Rylie got to do today. At her school whenever they reach 100 points in reading they get to walk the halls and the parents come and all the kids go out in the hall and give them high fives and cheer for them. Each book is worth .5 points so it takes a lot of books to reach this point, I guess about 200 books. After each book is read they have to take a test on it to make it count. That's a lot of work and we are so proud of her! She is a great reader and a great student!

Spring Fever

We are desperate for spring to be here. As soon as it gets 40 degrees or higher the kids are ready to go outside and ride bikes. We let Easton go out one day and as soon as I put him down he took off running. He likes to see Grandpa's goats and chickens so that is usually where he takes off to. We still have a lot of snow so there was really no where Easton could go but in the mud. He wouldn't stay on the concrete. The girls were climbing the snow mounds and rock piles and Easton wanted to join. He has to do everything that they are doing.

Of course he was running so fast that he fell and did a face plant in the mud.

After the first fall, that still didn't stop him and he kept running and falling. He was having so much fun. I am really going to have to watch him close this summer because he takes off so fast and it is always in the direction that is farthest from me.

He had dirt up his nose and in his mouth but he still had the best time.

I just had to throw in a picture of my cute kiddos at dinner time. They always have to sit right by each other on the same side of our tiny dining table.

I also had to throw in this pic of Easton. The girls got these crocheted hats from Grandma Judy for Valentines day and Easton loves to put them on and he wears them around. He's such a funny boy.

Everyday stuff

I finally turned my blog into a book and gave it to Porter for Valentines day. As we went through it, we realized what a great thing this is to pass on to our kids. I figured I needed to post a lot more about everyday stuff. Since this is the only journal I keep, I really want to remember all the little things.
This is my last St. patty craft I did. This is the one that I tore off the glitter paper and redid. I like it a lot better now. I found this little poem and thought it was great for the holiday. I figured I had to throw in a few more of Brynlie's modeling moments. Almost everyday she puts on some crazy outfit and has to have her picture taken.

We have sooooo much snow at our house! I don't think the snow will ever go away. The kids love it and always want to go out and play in it.

Rylie is always the one who wants to go out and play in the snow. She has such a great imagination and will play for hours outside.

Porter and his brother Jordan hooked up the sled to the back of the four wheeler and took the kids for a ride. They loved it!

Now onto the subject of Easton. This kid is out of control! He does this new grumpy face all the time. Mainly at me, but sometimes to others. The top picture is of Easton looking at his dad. See the happy look on his face? The picture below it is when he looked at me. Such a grumpy face!

Easton loves to eat jerky. We set up the girls princess table and he loved it. He had to eat all his meals here and thought he was such a big boy. These pictures are of him enjoying his jerky at the princess table.

Look at my poor baby and what a mean mommy I am! Brynlie had her play makeup out so I had to do it. You can't tell very well but he has on blue eye shadow and blush and lipstick. Then of course I had to stick him in a princess dress. He did not like it one bit! I guess he only likes it when he does it himself. Poor kid, I am probably messing him up.

Easton loves to climb on stuff. He will climb on just about anything. I can't count how many times he has fallen and bumped his head. He always has a bruise somewhere.
The above picture is of him being so proud of himself. The below picture is of him getting caught climbing.
He likes to climb onto the couch and then climb up into the window. Seeing as how this could be pretty dangerous, we decided to move the couch away from the window so he could no longer climb onto it.

The girls decided to give Easton a kit kat candy bar while we were driving in the car and as you can tell he enjoyed it very much. I should have gotten a picture of his hands, they were caked with chocolate.
