2013

February was a cold month with a lot of snow, but at least the kids can keep themselves entertained.
March was Easter and finally a sign of Spring.  We took the kids swimming cause it was a long winter and they needed to get out and have some fun.
For Spring Break we took the kids to the Dinosaur museum down by Thanksgiving Point and then shopping at the new outlets.  We stayed in a hotel for a couple of days so the kids could get some more swimming done.
 The kids being goofballs!
We took the kids to Hogle Zoo when school got out.  May is the perfect time to go because it wasn't very hot.
Jared had his 13th birthday in June.  We went to his birthday party and I can't believe how grown up he is.
Nikie got married to Chris on June 22.  It was a fun and exciting day.  I just can't believe we didn't get any pictures of the couple, we only got pics of the rest of the family.

We took a really fun trip to Yellowstone this year.  The kids had never been there and both Porter and I hadn't been in over 10 years.  The kids loved it!  It was perfect weather and we got to see a lot of wildlife including a grizzly bear.  The only thing we didn't see was a bull moose.  We stayed in a cabin in Island Park that a friend from our ward owns.  We all had a lot of fun.
We went to a Bear and Wolf  Discovery Center in West Yellowstone.  They have grizzlies, black bears and wolves that are sent there because they have become a public nuisance and instead of killing them they bring them to this center.  It was fun to see them up close.
The night before we were planning on coming home, we were on our way from West Yellowstone to Island Park at about dusk when a deer ran out in front of us.  We hit going 60 mph and then ran over it.  The deer completely smashed the front end ruining the radiator.  We drove as far as we could before the car overheated then had to call Porter's parents to come and tow us the rest of the way.
The next day we had to call the insurance and get a rental car so we could get home.  We didn't want it to ruin our trip completely so we still stopped at the Tetons and in Jackson Hole before we went home.
It took about a week before the insurance decided to total the car.  There was more damage than the eye could see and wasn't worth fixing.  Other than the car thing happening, it was a really fun trip that I wouldn't mind doing again.
July was a fun month.   The kids spent a lot of time playing with cousins.  Rylie turned 10 years old.  Time has gone by way too fast, she needs to stay little!  She had a fun swimming party with her friends and then a small family party.
Last but not least was camping this summer. 5 days and 4 nights of dirty fun!

Long Overdue Update

I can't believe I have gone this long without posting something.  I have a lot to update but I want to keep it as short as possible, so it will mostly be pictures with a few words.

First Day of School!

The first snow in October.  Easton and Bear loved it!

Our family dressed up as zombies this year.
We didn't take the kids to our wards 'Trunk or Treat' this year, so instead we just took them to my parents neighborhood to do trick or treating.  They got tired after a few blocks and were ready to stop. They have gotten used to getting a bunch of candy by just going around a parking lot and aren't used to the good old fashioned way of working to get your candy.

Easton turned three this year. He still seems like my baby so I can't believe he is three.
Porter and Easton's birthday are a day apart and Porter had to work, so on Easton's birthday we went to my parents house and had pizza and cupcakes.  Then on Porter's day off we celebrated both their birthdays and had the Galloway side come over for cake and ice cream.  Easton got a bunch of fun presents and even his own Monster High Doll.
The kids love playing in the snow and are outside all the time sledding.
Christmas Eve at Grandma and Grandpa Dahl's house.
Christmas Eve at Grandma and Grandpa Galloway's house
Christmas morning.  The kids didn't get as much as they used to get because we paid for Christmas this year without using any credit cards.  Porter worked a lot of extra hours.  However the kids were really grateful this year and still got most of what they wanted and told us this was the best Christmas ever!  That makes it all worth it!

Over Christmas break we took the kids bowling with their cousins.  It was Easton's first time bowling and he had a blast.  Every time he would let the ball go he immediately started dancing and cheering for himself.  The kids love their bowling.

Brynlie turned 7 on January 4.  She chose to go out to eat at Texas Roadhouse and then her Aunt Cassie took her and Rylie to the Jump Zone as her Birthday present.  She wanted a cat cake which I attempted to do without succeeding very well, but she liked it.  She got some fun presents and had a good birthday.

Brynlie was able to walk the halls at school because she got to her goal of 100 A.R. points.  She is such a good reader and her dad and I are so proud of her.
