March Update

Even though we have a computer now, I still don't have time to do as many posts as I would like. So I thought I would just do at least a monthly post. March went by fast, thank goodness. I can't wait for warmer weather.
Rylie is doing really well in school. She is seriously the best reader in her class. I am so proud of her. She is overcoming some of her shyness. She's mostly just shy with adults. She is a huge helper with Easton which lets me get some things done.
Brynlie is as nutty as ever. She does and says some of the craziest things. She is in love with her brother. When Rylie leaves for school, she likes to have Easton put in her bed and will read stories to him, and he just loves it. She likes to get in his face and squeeze his cheeks.
Easton is growing up. I just barely decided to start him on rice cereal. I know you're supposed to wait until 6 months, but he is almost five months and he acts interested every time we eat so I decided to try it out on him. He loves to be in his high chair. He also loved the cereal, but he'll only eat it if he's super hungry. I put a picture of Easton sleeping because I was going to post that he is finally sleeping better, but it only lasted a little over a week. He is now back to waking every two hours again. I don't know what happened and why he started to sleep good then decide not to. He is a confusing baby.
I decided it was finally time to get Eastons room decorated. I have been looking for a quilt and bumper pad for his crib for months. The only ones that I have liked have been way over $300. That is something I definitely can't afford so I decided to teach myself how to make my own quilt and bumper pad. The finished product is below.

I wanted something with texture so I used dark brown thin corduroy and carmel colored thick corduroy. I also used navy blue quilted fabric and a cream extra soft fleece. I am not a seamstress by any means, I just know what I've been taught in high school home ec. If you look really close at it you can see the crooked thread lines and the ribbon I sewed on the top to tie it to the crib is very uneven but I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. Especially since this is my first time sewing something this big. I also bought dark blue glaze to put on his walls over the brown. I'm not sure how that will turn out but I'm excited to try. I'm going to decorate his room in vintage sports stuff, so when I'm finally finished I'll post some pictures of the room.
Porter started his new shift this month. He is now back to working nights which is a bummer but at least he finally has weekends off.
You're probably wondering why I have a random picture of strawberries. My kids were so excited that strawberries were finally coming into season. I bought some, not at a very good price, but my girls were begging for them so I got them. I usually wash and cut them up for them to eat but I was too busy. The girls were asking to eat them but I was with the baby so I told them to wash them and just eat them up to the stems. When I was finished with Easton I came into the kitchen and this is what I saw.

A whole brand new container of strawberries with one or two bites taken out of every strawberry. I was so mad. I had to throw away $3 worth of strawberries. I guess my kids are spoiled because they thought that this was o.k. Then Rylie told me " Well you should have cut them up for us." What a couple of naughty children.

Rolling Baby

Look at this chubby baby. When we took him to his 4 month appointment his weight was in the 67 percentile. His height was only in the 53rd. So I've got a short, chubby baby. Totally opposite of my girls who were tall and skinny. Look at his thighs they are huge! It is so much fun to have a chunk, there is a lot more to squeeze. Easton has been rolling over for about 2 weeks. He started rolling from his back to his tummy, which is completely opposite of what most babies do. He started doing it once in a while but now every time I lay him on his back he rolls over.

Isn't he the cutest baby ever? Well at least I think so anyway.

The funny thing is he loves to roll over but he hates being on his tummy. He cannot roll from his tummy to his back yet, which is supposed to be easier and the way most babies start rolling. I guess he likes to do things the hard way. As you can see from the picture below he gets mad and starts crying when he is on his tummy.

New Computer

We finaly got a new computer and the internet! It has been almost a year since we have had a working computer and the internet. It is so nice not to have to use someone else's computer. It's pretty sad how much a person relies on the internet. It's were we do all our banking, pay our bills, shop, keep in touch with friends and family. I was pretty lost without it. Here is just a collage of some pictures of Easton and the rest of the family. I never had time to do anything with my pictures since I only had limited time on a computer. Hopefully I can keep my blog more updated.
