Summertime

A lot has happened this summer and I have been so bad at blogging.  It seems we have been so busy all the time.  So much for the lazy days of Summer.  I guess I will start in May.
Brynlie did t-ball and Rylie was in her 2nd year of softball.  Porter was able to make it to most of their games this year which was a lot of fun.  The girls both did really well.  Rylie is really getting good and knows the game pretty well.

Now onto June.  June was the month that we got a dog.  We also set up our big pool so there was a lot of swimming with and without the dog.

July was our craziest month.  We had fireworks and a barbecue at my mom and dad's house for the 4th of July.  Cindy and her kids had come up to visit for the month so my kids were able to play with their cousins.

We went camping and had a lot of fun.

Our ward does an all day 24th of July celebration.  Porter and I had to help with some of the games in the morning and in the afternoon.  Then the primary kids did a pioneer parade before the dinner and had to dress up as pioneers.

Rylie turned 9 on July 28th.  That Saturday we took the kids to the movie Brave and then took them shopping to spend their money.

On Sunday we had Rylie's birthday party with the family.  We asked her if she wanted a birthday party with her friends and she told us she would rather have one with the family.  She got a lot of fun and useful gifts from her Aunts, Uncle, and cousins.  She also finally got an ipod touch.  She had been saving her money for 6 months and with help from both sets of grandparents we were able to get it for her.  She has been having so much fun with it.

I think I've just about covered everything up until right now.  I am going to add a few more cute pics of the kids just for fun.

Update

It doesn't seem like I have any time to post anymore.  Summer is way busier than I expected it to be.  Here are just a few pictures I have taken recently.
Easton loves animals and all he wants to do all day is hang out with his 'buddies', as he likes to call them.  He loves my in-laws dog Foxy.  He is always sitting on her, playing ball with her, and they follow each other around all day.  He also loves the goats.   He loves to ride the mother goat and she'll buck him off and he laughs and gets right back on her.  Easton is also the only one in the family who loves the cat.  None of us dare to touch it because it is always dirty and has wounds from fighting with other cats, but Easton will hold and hug the cat all the time.

Here is a picture of Brynlie's Kindergarten program.  They sang songs and did a cute little dance.  Rylie also had a program but it was more of a play and we only got video of it.  She played Goldilocks and did a great job.

These are just some random pictures of my nutty kids.

We thought that since Easton loved animals so much that we would finally get a puppy.  I don't know what we were thinking.  I forgot how much work puppies are.  He is a chocolate lab that is named Bear.  He loves to swim with the kids and loves to bite.  He is an adorable puppy but an evil one.  He has dozens of chew toys and bones but he has to go after all the stuff he shouldn't chew on, like shoes, chairs, the kids legs, Eastons $90 Strider bike seat.  I almost wanted to strangle it after the last one.  I know it is a puppy and puppies bite stuff but I think this one does it more than any dog I have ever seen.  You can't even pet it without it biting you.  The kids and I all have holes in our clothes because it will grab a hold of our shirts or pants and won't let go.  Porter doesn't think it is that bad but he isn't around it as much as I am and when Porter is around, the dog is good and will listen.  I think this is going to be a long and hard training process.

Easter 2012

We went to Grandma and Grandpa Dahl's house on Saturday for dinner and an Easter egg hunt. The kids love playing with Jared. We had a delicious dinner and Mindi brought cute stuff for the kids to play with and cookies for them to decorate. As usual, my mom spoiled the kids with candy and money.  I am so glad that it was a warm sunny day.

Holidays are the only days that I am glad our church doesn't start until 1:00.  The kids got up and got into their Easter baskets.  This year they got bike helmets and bells for their bikes and a bunch of candy.  Then we got ready for church and they had an Easter egg hunt outside before we left.  They all got new Easter clothes and they looked so cute.

After church we went to Grandma and Grandpa Galloway's house for dinner and another Easter egg hunt.  Once again the kids got spoiled.  We went down to the pond for the egg hunt and the kids had fun playing with their cousins.  With all the stuff they get from grandparents I wonder if the Easter bunny ever needs to come.

March 2012

I can't remember everything that happened in March so I will just post about a few highlights.  The last week of March was the girls spring break.  We took them to Sandy to stay in a hotel because they have been wanting to go swimming for so long.  We had also planned to go to the Living Planet Aquarium and go to a few other places, but we mainly went so they could swim.  They probably would have spent every waking minute in the pool if we didn't make them get out so we could do other things.  Everywhere we went they were always asking when we were going back to swim.  The kids had a ton of fun.  Easton loved everything but bedtime.  He has never spent the night anywhere but Grandma Dahl's house, so he kept asking to go home.

We went to the Living Planet Aquarium.  It's no Sea World but it's pretty good for Utah.  They had sting rays for the kids to touch and small sharks, penguins, otters, and an assortment of other sea creatures to look at.  They had a great time especially because their cousins were there with them.

Since it has gotten warmer this month the kids have been out riding their bikes as often as they can.  Brynlie told me that she loves living where we do because they can ride their bikes all over.  Easton is doing so good on his Stryder bike.  He balances so well and can coast on the two wheels.  He'll probably be able to ride a regular bike by the time he is three.  Whoever invented that bike knew what they were doing.
